Tarot cards are fun and effective in a creative brainstorm. The system is a simple way to motivate your group with a fresh discussion by introducing fundamental characters and familiar elements of storytelling.

Tarot cards follow a basic system of four elements (emotional, mental, physical and creative). This set up is just like the hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs in playing cards. There are also 22 trump cards--characters that take on archetypal qualities (mother, father, judge, etc.). The cards simply provide recognizable ingredients to distill what's important and start a story. And they offer building blocks for you to incorporate (or hold in reserve) as you formulate your goal.

For example: The King of Pentacles card could start conversations about a wealthy customer who is resistant to persuasion and confident in what she or he wants. He enjoys giving advice. What would happen if this customer blogged about your product or service? How could you communicate with him and bring him a better product? How will the company respond to his blogs?

If you're interested in using the tarot for creative problem-solving, send me an email or give me a call.  I've been working with creative groups since 2000 (www.eliseallen.net)  and  have given tarot readings for about two and a half years.

Although I'm happy to facilitate brainstorms, provide detailed creative strategies and copywrite until the cows come to your homepage, I only use tarot by request. In other words, you've got to ask for it. :)

If you're open minded, patient and embrace the unconventional, Tarot is an amazing way to tease exceptional ideas from your creative mind.
